We stayed at Waves Village last summer with our teenage children and two additional friends. The units are beautiful and the views stunning, especially at sunset! The staff of this resort were all very nice, and gave us storage for the gear we rented and brought with us. The units look over the pool and the bay. We rented kayaks and paddle boards for the week, and a nearby roadside surf shop set us up with sunfish and surfboard rentals.

There is a pier for fishing on the oceanside just a short walk away. The beach was uncrowded, very clean, and the waves wonderful for surfing.
The only negatives I could possibly come up with for this resort are the internet service was intermitent and the adjacent property was not the best kept. However, you don’t see this from your balcony (which comes with a private hot tub).

The restaurant onsite has spectacular views of the water. We would definitely stay here again!

After coming to Hatteras Island twice a year for 10+ years, we found Waves Kiteboarding Resort and decided to give it a try. We rented “Nights in Rodanthe” – middle unit on the 3rd floor. These units are wonderful. Beautifully furnished and fully equipped. There was a long spacious deck overlooking the sound with comfortable furniture, a gas grill and hot tub. Great for “grilling and chilling” and watching the fantastic sunsets over the sound.

There were 3 bedrooms (2 with king beds and 1 with queen). Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen had all stainless steel appliances and soapstone countertops. Nice bar area between the kitchen and dining area with 3 stools.

At at the on-site restaurant and food was really good. It’s a short walk to the beach – but there is a great sound-front pool. Between the pool, hot tub, sound, on-site restaurant, on-site coffee shop and on-site store – you really would not have to ever leave the premises. Big plus was that we could bring our dog with us (saving $$ at the kennel). There is an elevator to all floors making bringing luggage up and down very easy.

Great value for the money. We are already planning a trip back in May.

Life is Good At Waves Village

This is our second stay in the Life is Good unit at Waves Village and we’ve loved every day of our vacation! The sunsets are spectacular and watching the kiteboarders is thrilling. My boyfriend had a blast with Mike during his kiteboarding lesson earlier this week! Thanks, Mike!

The condo is beautifully appointed – the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable – everything was immaculate when we arrived. I loved being able to cook dinner while watching the sunsets. The gas grill and the hot tub on the balcony were used often – so much fun! The pool is gorgeous – a great respite from the sun!

Although it’s an easy walk to the beach, we chose to hop in the car and drive six miles south to the public beach. Each day there were no more than five or six people there – so, essentially we had the beach to ourselves. What a treat!

We cooked most of the time – try Austin’s Seafood Market (a mile or two south of Waves) for wonderful, fresh seafood. If you don’t feel like cooking, walk over to Good Winds – fabulous food, great service and of course, the sunsets. (Their crab cakes are THE BEST!)

We’ve had a wonderful, relaxing week in the Life is Good condo – we’ll be back next year!
